Q1: What is the material purity of this PTFE tube? Does it meet USP Class VI or FDA requirements?
A1: We use 100% virgin PTFE resin (no regrind), compliant with FDA 21 CFR 177.1550, and can supply USP Class VI biocompatibility test reports to meet the strict demands of pharmaceutical and biotech high-purity systems.
Q2: What inner surface roughness can you achieve, and how do you prevent particle shedding?
A2: Through precision extrusion or skiving, we achieve an inner surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.4 μm, with no bubbles, cracks, or inclusions, effectively minimizing particle release and maintaining fluid purity.
Q3: Can you provide full batch traceability documentation, and what does it include?
A3: Yes. Each batch is supplied with a batch number, raw material certificate, physical property test data (density, tensile strength, etc.), and optional extractable/endotoxin test reports to support GMP audits.
Q4: Do you support filled modifications, such as anti-static or reinforced grades?
A4: Yes. We can add fillers like carbon fiber, glass fiber, or graphite to improve anti-static or mechanical strength upon request. However, note that fillers may affect cleanroom compatibility; we will provide a suitability evaluation.
Q5: Can this tube withstand high-temperature steam sterilization (e.g., 121°C autoclave)?
A5: PTFE itself resists continuous service up to 260°C, so routine steam sterilization is no problem. However, sealing connections require careful design; we can provide sterilization cycle recommendations.
Q6: What connection options are available? Can you machine flared ends, flanges, or threaded adapters?
A6: We can machine flared ends, lap-joint flanges, integral flanges, or custom threaded fittings per your drawing, and also offer welding or bonding suggestions for seamless integration.
Q7: What are the working pressure and temperature ranges?
A7: Continuous service temperature ranges from -200°C to +260°C. Working pressure depends on wall thickness and diameter; typical thin-wall tubes handle up to 1.0 MPa at room temperature, while thicker walls can go higher. We calculate safe pressure based on your conditions.
Q8: Is the tube resistant to common cleaning agents used in biopharma?
A8: PTFE exhibits excellent resistance to almost all chemicals, including strong alkalis and oxidizers. However, concentration and temperature specifics matter - our engineers will provide compatibility data based on your cleaning protocol.
