PTFE RODS

There are 3 different types of Forming process for PTFE Rod.
Diameter: 1mm-4mm, produced via Paste extrusion forming from dispersion resins. Normally in Roll package.
Diameter: 3mm-160mm, produced via plunger Pushing method from PTFE Suspension resins.
Diameter: between 6mm to 400mm can be produce into short rod by molding method, the Short molded rod can be mixed with inorganic materials such as fiberglass, bronze, graphite, carbon, or molybdenum sulfide (compounds). This can significantly alter the properties, particularly with regard to pressure resistance, thermal expansion, electrical values, and abrasion.
Of all the known plastics , PTFE has the most excellent chemical resistance and dielectric properties , anti-aging, non-stick , can be worked under a temperature of -180 ºC ~ + 260 ºC(zero load working environment) , it has the lowest coefficient of friction among all known solid material.

Forming process for PTFE Molded Rod:
Step 1: PTFE Resin mixed with additives.
Step 2: Compression: Put the compounded PTFE material into Molds, compression into billets with certain temperature and time.
Step 3: Sintering: Then Heat the PTFE billets to melting point in the Oven, the PTFE Resin molecule are are closely packed by sintering.
Step 4: It can be machined or directly use after cooling.
Molding method Feature: Low output, the dimensional changes Seriouly during sintering, only suitable for big size and simply designed products.

PTFE Molded Rods are mainly used for machining into various of circular parts such as ,gaskets, washers, shafts ,special-shaped pieces and so on .
