Q1: What are the advantages of extruded molded tubes compared to compression-molded or skived PTFE tubes?
A1: Extrusion allows continuous production, offering longer lengths and more uniform wall thickness, making it ideal for large-volume applications. Compression-molded or skived tubes are better for small batches, thick walls, or custom shapes. Our extruded tubes provide a smooth surface, stable dimensions, and higher cost-efficiency.

Q2: What is the continuous operating temperature range of this tube?
A2: PTFE offers a continuous service range from -200°C to +260°C. It retains good mechanical strength at elevated temperatures, but note that high temperatures reduce pressure resistance; derating is recommended based on your actual conditions.

Q3: How smooth are the inner and outer surfaces, and what tolerances can be achieved?
A3: The extruded tube has a smooth inner and outer surface free from cracks or bubbles. Outer diameter tolerance can typically be controlled within ±0.5%, and inner diameter tolerance and roundness can be further tightened upon request. We support precision tolerances according to your drawings.

Q4: Can this PTFE tube be used in food or pharmaceutical applications? Is FDA compliance documentation available?
A4: This product is made from virgin PTFE and complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 for food contact materials. We can provide FDA declarations upon shipment, as well as MSDS and ROHS/REACH test reports if needed.

Q5: Do you offer cutting or custom-length services? What is the maximum single length?
A5: Yes, we can cut to your specified lengths. Typical maximum extruded length per piece is 2-4 metres, depending on the outer diameter. We also offer secondary processing such as end squaring, chamfering, or drilling.

Q6: Can this extruded tube withstand internal pressure? How to estimate the maximum working pressure?
A6: The pressure capacity depends on wall thickness, temperature, and support conditions. Generally, recommended working pressure is not more than 1.6 MPa (static); dynamic or pulsating pressures should be lower. We can assist in calculating safe pressure values based on your dimensions and conditions.

Q7: Is the tube available only in white? Can other colours or fillers be added?
A7: The standard product is white (natural PTFE colour). For special colours or reinforcement fillers like glass fibre, carbon fibre, or graphite to improve wear resistance or creep resistance, we support custom formulations, subject to minimum order quantity.

Q8: How should the PTFE tube be connected to other pipes or valves? Is thermal welding suitable?
A8: PTFE is non-thermoplastic and cannot be easily melt-welded. We recommend flange connections, compression fittings, or flared threaded joints. We also offer tube end flaring or pre-installed flanges for easy on-site assembly.
