Q1: What is the copper filler percentage, and can it be adjusted?
A1: The standard filler ratio is 40%~60% by weight, but we can customize it from 15% to 70% based on your load, speed, and thermal requirements, or even combine with other reinforcements upon request.
Q2: What are the main advantages over pure PTFE tubing?
A2: Copper powder significantly improves creep resistance, thermal conductivity, and wear resistance, allowing higher loads and speeds while retaining PTFE's inherent low friction - ideal for dry or boundary-lubricated bearing applications.
Q3: Can this tubing handle high rotational speeds or frequent start-stop cycles?
A3: Yes. The copper filler provides excellent heat dissipation, reducing temperature rise under friction. It works well at moderate speeds (recommended linear velocity ≤ 2 m/s) and frequent starts/stops, maintaining dimensional stability and wear life.
Q4: What is the continuous operating temperature range?
A4: It can work from -200°C to +260°C long-term, but copper filling slightly reduces the upper limit - we recommend staying within 200°C for continuous use, with short-term peaks up to 250°C.
Q5: Is the tubing chemically resistant? Does copper affect corrosion resistance?
A5: The PTFE matrix remains highly resistant to most acids, alkalis, and solvents. However, copper is susceptible to strong oxidizing acids - if your media contains such substances, we suggest alternative fillers or pure PTFE.
Q6: What are the dimensional tolerances for ID, OD, and length? Can you make non-standard sizes?
A6: We support imperial or metric dimensions with typical tolerances of ±0.05 mm for ID/OD and ±0.5 mm for length. We accept 2D drawings (PDF/CAD) or 3D models (IGES/STEP), and can machine chamfers, oil grooves, or steps as required.
Q7: Can this tubing directly replace powder-metal or bronze bearings?
A7: Absolutely, and it offers advantages in oil-free or contamination-sensitive applications (e.g., food/pharma). Just ensure proper clearance - we can recommend typical mounting gaps (usually 0.1%~0.3% of shaft diameter).
Q8: Do you provide material test reports and compliance documents?
A8: Yes, each batch comes with test certificates for copper content, density, hardness, tensile strength, etc. We also supply MSDS, ROHS, and REACH declarations to help you meet export and regulatory requirements.
