Chunhuan Group (Zhenjiang Chunhuan Sealing Group Co., Ltd.), established in 1985, is a leading manufacturer of fluoroplastic products, chemical semiconductor linings, and new energy sealing gaskets. The company primarily focuses on the research, development, and production of fluoroplastic series sealing products (for hydrogen energy and nuclear power applications) and chemical semiconductor linings. With subsidiaries in South Korea and Shanghai, the group has also established a joint venture with South Korea's Houcheng Group for semiconductor lining equipment. Main production: PTFE products, metal seals series, steel lining anti-corrosion series, engineering plastics series, rubber products series,it is the leading enterprise in the national fluoroplastics industry. The company supplies more than 300 varieties of PTFE composite modified materials, ranging from standard composite modified materials (bronze, glass fiber, carbon, graphite, etc.) to customized solutions to meet different production needs of customers. The company provides flexible quantity and fast delivery service. The engineers have 35 years working experience in the field of PTFE,serving customers in more than 30 countries.

1. Q: What is the maximum temperature HDPE sheets can withstand? Can they be used outdoors long-term?
A: Hello! The long-term service temperature for standard HDPE sheets typically ranges from -50°C to 80°C, with short-term tolerance up to approximately 100°C. It's important to note that HDPE material has relatively limited aging resistance. Prolonged exposure to intense ultraviolet (UV) radiation outdoors can lead to aging, embrittlement, or discoloration. Therefore, for outdoor use, it is recommended to confirm whether the sheet contains added UV stabilizers or carbon black. Alternatively, protective measures such as shading or applying UV-resistant coatings can significantly extend its lifespan.
2. Q: Is HDPE sheet resistant to acids and alkalis? Can it be used for linings in chemical storage tanks or electrolytic cells?
A: Yes, HDPE sheets exhibit excellent chemical resistance. At room temperature, they are insoluble in most organic solvents and resist corrosion from various media like acids, alkalis, and salts. This makes them highly suitable for applications such as anti-corrosion linings for chemical storage tanks, electrolytic cells, electroplating tanks, or for manufacturing corrosion-resistant pads and gaskets. However, please note that it is not resistant to strong oxidizing acids (like concentrated nitric acid) or certain aromatic hydrocarbons (like xylene).
3. Q: Are your HDPE sheets made from virgin or recycled material? How can I tell the difference?
A: Our sheets are manufactured using 100% virgin material, not recycled content. Sheets made from recycled materials often appear grayish or dull, become brittle, and suffer from poor impact resistance, making them prone to cracking. In contrast, our virgin HDPE sheets feature a milky-white color, a uniform and dense cross-section, a smooth surface finish, and excellent toughness. We provide material certification to guarantee consistent quality, meeting the demands of high-standard applications.
4. Q: Is this material environmentally friendly? Can it be used for food contact or in the pharmaceutical industry?
A: HDPE material is inherently non-toxic, tasteless, and odorless, classifying it as an environmentally friendly material. Our sheets, made from high-quality virgin resin, comply with food contact grade standards and are widely used in food machinery cutting boards, conveyor star wheels, medical device components, and pharmaceutical packaging industries. Furthermore, as a thermoplastic, HDPE is fully recyclable by melting and reprocessing, aligning with sustainability principles.
5. Q: I need to use HDPE sheets as wear-resistant liners. How good is its wear resistance?
A: HDPE sheets offer good wear resistance. Its high molecular weight gives it a surface hardness and rigidity superior to standard polyethylene, providing decent resistance to sliding abrasion. However, for applications involving high abrasion, high impact, or high dust environments (such as hopper liners, dump truck beds), we strongly recommend Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) sheets. UHMWPE offers several times the wear resistance of standard HDPE, plus self-lubricating and non-stick properties. Please choose based on your specific operating conditions.
6. Q: What causes HDPE sheets to warp or deform during installation and use? How can this be prevented?
A: Warping or deformation is typically caused by: 1) Thermal expansion/contraction: HDPE has a high coefficient of linear thermal expansion; failure to leave adequate expansion gaps during installation is a common cause. 2) Excessive temperature: Prolonged exposure to temperatures above 80°C or uneven heating can soften the material. 3) Installation method: Insufficient or poorly distributed fixing points under load. We recommend leaving expansion gaps of 2-5mm during installation, using a multi-point fastening system with oversized holes (drill holes 1-2mm larger than the bolt diameter) and washers, and ensuring the sheet is mounted on a flat, supportive substrate.
7. Q: How dimensionally stable are these sheets? Will there be issues with accuracy during machining?
A: HDPE sheets exhibit a certain degree of shrinkage during forming (approx. 1.5%-3%). We strictly control our production process to ensure thickness tolerances are within acceptable ranges (e.g., ±0.5mm), and all sheets are checked for flatness before shipment. During subsequent machining (cutting, routing), due to the inherent internal stresses in the material, it is advisable to allow the material to rest after rough cutting before finishing, or to consider annealing treatment, to maximize the final dimensional accuracy of the finished part.
8. Q: The surface seems prone to scratches, or the area around screw holes cracks. What should I do?
A:Surface Scratches: The surface hardness of HDPE is lower than that of metals, making it susceptible to scratches from hard objects. Avoid direct contact with sharp objects during handling and use. Minor scratches can potentially be polished out using specialized repair agents or fine-grit sandpaper.
Cracking Around Holes: This is often caused by undersized pilot holes or over-tightening screws. It's recommended to drill holes 1-2mm larger than the screw diameter and use flat washers and spring washers to distribute stress, avoiding excessive clamping force.
9. Q: The sheet surface is dirty. What is the best way to clean and maintain it?
A: HDPE sheets are easy to clean. For routine dust, simply wipe with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn grease or stains, use a mild detergent diluted in water, gently scrub, then rinse with clean water and dry. Avoid using strong acids, alkalis, or harsh solvents (like acetone or toluene) as these can damage the sheet's surface.
10. Q: Can you provide sheets in specific colors (like black or blue) or with special properties (flame retardant, anti-static)?
A: Absolutely! Customization is available. Besides the standard natural (milky white) and carbon black-filled (UV-resistant) sheets, we can customize various colors to meet your equipment identification or aesthetic requirements. Furthermore, for specialized safety applications, we offer flame-retardant grade and anti-static/conductive grade modified HDPE sheets, widely used in the electronics industry, mines, and dust-prone environments.
