FAQ

1. Q: Is your pure PTFE skived sheet made of 100% virgin material without any recycled or filled content?
   A: Yes, we use 100% virgin PTFE suspension resin with no recycled or filled materials. Purity test reports are available for each batch upon request.

2. Q: What are the advantages of a skived sheet compared to a compression molded sheet?
   A: Skived sheets offer smoother surfaces and better thickness uniformity, making them ideal for large-area gaskets and linings. Molded sheets are better for very thick plates (>20mm). Our skived sheets range from 0.5mm to 20mm with superior flatness.

3. Q: What is the long-term temperature resistance of this sheet?
   A: The sheet can be used continuously from -180°C to +260°C, with short-term exposure up to 300°C. It maintains excellent chemical stability and mechanical strength below 260°C.

4. Q: Is the surface smooth? Are there visible knife marks or waves?
   A: The skiving process leaves very slight unidirectional texture, but flatness is controlled within ≤0.05mm with no visible marks or waves. Mirror-like surface is available via secondary calendering.

5. Q: Will the PTFE skived sheet swell or corrode in strong acids or alkalis?
   A: PTFE is one of the most chemically resistant materials. It resists almost all strong acids, alkalis, and organic solvents except molten alkali metals and hot fluorine gas. No swelling or deformation under long-term immersion in pH 0-14.

6. Q: Is this sheet easy to machine (drilling, cutting, stamping)?
   A: Very easy. PTFE is relatively soft and can be machined with standard wood or metalworking tools (sawing, drilling, turning, punching). Use sharp tools to avoid burrs or rough edges.

7. Q: What certifications does this product have? Is it suitable for food contact or medical environments?
   A: Our pure PTFE skived sheet complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 (food contact) and passes RoHS & REACH tests. It is suitable for food processing gaskets, pharmaceutical equipment linings, etc.

8. Q: How do you ensure flatness? Will the sheet deform during shipping?
   A: Each sheet is inspected for flatness (≤0.05mm/300mm) before shipment. We use flat packing or roll with inner support to avoid bending or creasing.
