Chunhuan Group (Zhenjiang Chunhuan Sealing Group Co., Ltd.), established in 1985, is a leading manufacturer of fluoroplastic products, chemical semiconductor linings, and new energy sealing gaskets. The company primarily focuses on the research, development, and production of fluoroplastic series sealing products (for hydrogen energy and nuclear power applications) and chemical semiconductor linings. With subsidiaries in South Korea and Shanghai, the group has also established a joint venture with South Korea's Houcheng Group for semiconductor lining equipment. Main production: PTFE products, metal seals series, steel lining anti-corrosion series, engineering plastics series, rubber products series,it is the leading enterprise in the national fluoroplastics industry. The company supplies more than 300 varieties of PTFE composite modified materials, ranging from standard composite modified materials (bronze, glass fiber, carbon, graphite, etc.) to customized solutions to meet different production needs of customers. The company provides flexible quantity and fast delivery service. The engineers have 35 years working experience in the field of PTFE,serving customers in more than 30 countries.

1. What is the difference between extrusion molding and compression molding, and how do I choose between them?
Extrusion molding is suitable for producing continuous PTFE rods with relatively small diameters and longer lengths, offering a smooth surface and good dimensional stability. Compression molding is ideal for large-diameter, short-length rods or those requiring special filler reinforcement, allowing flexible formulation and density control. If you need rods with a diameter of 5-100 mm, long lengths, and high batch-to-batch consistency, extrusion is recommended. For diameters exceeding 100 mm or applications requiring high-strength fillers (such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, copper powder, etc.), compression molding is the better choice.
2. Can you produce PTFE rods with a diameter smaller than 5 mm or larger than 350 mm?
Our standard diameter range is 5-350 mm, but we also support ultra-fine rods below 5 mm (ideal for precision instruments) and oversized rods above 350 mm (for structural components, seal seats, etc.). Such non-standard specifications require evaluation of mold and forming methods based on the actual dimensions. We recommend providing drawings or technical requirements in advance for custom confirmation.
3. What types of filler reinforcement are available, and how do they improve performance?
Common fillers include glass fiber (improves wear resistance and rigidity), carbon fiber (enhances thermal conductivity and creep resistance), copper powder (improves thermal conductivity and compressive strength), and molybdenum disulfide (reduces the friction coefficient). Filler reinforcement compensates for the limitations of virgin PTFE in load capacity, thermal conductivity, or dimensional stability, making the material suitable for higher load or special operating conditions.
4. What is the temperature range of PTFE rods? Can they be used in high-temperature environments?
Virgin PTFE rods have a long-term operating temperature range of -180°C to +260°C, and can withstand higher temperatures briefly without melting. Note that the material gradually decomposes above 260°C. For actual applications, we recommend selecting the appropriate formulation based on continuous operating temperatures; the thermal stability of filled grades may vary.
5. Does the material contain regrind or recycled content? How do you guarantee it is virgin PTFE?
We use 100% virgin PTFE resin with no regrind or recycled content. All raw materials are sourced from leading fluoropolymer suppliers, and we provide batch-specific material certifications and physical property test reports to ensure the product meets high standards for purity, mechanical strength, electrical insulation, and more.
6. Can you provide diameter tolerance control and machining allowance recommendations?
Diameter tolerances can be customized based on customer requirements. Typical tolerances for extruded rods are within ±0.1mm. Compression-molded rods are supplied with a reasonable machining allowance (generally 1-2mm) depending on the diameter, allowing for subsequent turning or finishing. For precision parts, we recommend specifying the finished part dimensions when ordering so we can supply the appropriate blank size to minimize material waste.
7. Are the rods suitable for food contact, medical, or semiconductor applications?
Virgin PTFE offers excellent chemical inertness, non-toxicity, and low extractables, meeting the stringent requirements of food contact, medical devices, and high-purity semiconductor processes. If intended for these industries, please specify the relevant standards (e.g., FDA, RoHS, MSDS), and we can provide compliance support and corresponding test reports.
8. What precautions should be taken when machining PTFE rods to avoid cracking or deformation?
PTFE is relatively soft and has a high coefficient of thermal expansion. During machining, we recommend using sharp tools, adequate cooling, and controlled feed rates and speeds to prevent localized overheating, which can cause deformation or stress cracking. For thin-walled parts or complex geometries, annealing the material beforehand is recommended to relieve internal stress. We can also supply pre-annealed material for high-precision machining if required.
