Virgin PTFE Rod 

Made entirely from 100% virgin PTFE suspension resin with no fillers added.
1.Extruded PTFE Rod: Sintered through continuous ram extrusion to form continuous long rods. Suitable for small-to-medium diameters and mass production. Molecules are oriented along the axial direction, making it ideal for high-volume machining.
2.Compression-Molded PTFE Rod: Subjected to intermittent compression-molding followed by integral sintering. Suitable for large-diameter sizes. The blanks feature dense structure with better resistance to cold-flow creep. Each individual blank is relatively short in length and produced in batches.

Both types are naturally pure white. They deliver excellent chemical corrosion resistance, a wide operating temperature range, a low coefficient of friction and high electrical insulation. They are used for secondary machining into shaft sleeves, sliding blocks, sealing components and insulating spare parts.

Q1: Is there any difference in corrosion resistance between extruded and molded rod? How do I choose?
A1: Corrosion resistance depends mainly on the PTFE matrix; both pure PTFE extruded and molded rods offer the same chemical resistance. The difference lies in physical properties: molded rod has higher density and lower internal stress, suitable for large diameters (up to 350 mm) and thick walls; extruded rod suits standard diameters and longer continuous lengths at better cost. If both corrosion resistance and creep resistance are required, choose molded with carbon or glass fiber filling.

Q2: Diameters from 5 to 350 mm and custom lengths are offered. Can you provide non-standard sizes and special tolerances?
A2: Yes. We support standard and non-standard diameters, with lengths cut to order and tolerances controlled per requirement. Please provide specific dimensions, tolerances, and quantity; we can arrange extrusion or molding and machine per 2D/3D drawings.

Q3: Can this PTFE rod be filled to enhance certain properties?
A3: Yes. Fillers include carbon fiber, glass fiber, graphite, molybdenum disulfide, bronze, and ceramics. Carbon fiber improves creep resistance and rigidity; glass fiber boosts strength; graphite and MoS2 reduce friction; bronze enhances heat dissipation. Filled grades are not suitable for food contact but significantly improve mechanical performance.

Q4: What media can the corrosion resistance handle? Is it suitable for strong acids and bases?
A4: Pure PTFE resists almost all strong acids, bases, and organic solvents. Filled grades' resistance depends on the filler, typically suitable for oils, water, and hydrocarbons, but strong oxidizing acids should be avoided. Provide your specific media for compatibility confirmation.

Q5: Is this rod easy to machine? Can you turn, mill, or drill it according to drawings?
A5: Very easy. PTFE rod offers excellent machinability with dimensional stability and minimal deformation. We accept PDF/CAD 2D drawings and IGES/STEP 3D models for turning, milling, drilling, tapping, and slotting, delivering precision parts directly.

Q6: How does creep resistance perform in seals or valve seats?
A6: Pure PTFE tends to cold flow under sustained pressure. For better creep resistance, choose carbon fiber or glass fiber filled grades, which significantly reduce compression set and maintain sealing force - ideal for valves, pumps, and flange seals.

Q7: How do you ensure batch-to-batch quality and dimensional consistency?
A7: We use controlled compounding and standardized extrusion or molding processes. Each batch is inspected for density, hardness, tensile strength, diameter, and length tolerances. Retained samples and lot traceability records ensure stable supply.

Q8: Do you provide FDA, MSDS, ROHS, and REACH documentation?
A8: Pure PTFE grades come with FDA compliance statements, MSDS, ROHS, and REACH documents. Filled grades can be supplied with MSDS, ROHS, and REACH, but are not FDA-compliant. Documents are provided with shipments or upon request.

Q9: Can you machine the rod directly into finished parts according to my drawings, not just supply raw rod?
A9: Yes. We not only supply PTFE round rod but also precision machine it per your 2D/3D drawings, delivering finished components such as seal rings, valve seats, bushings, and insulators - reducing your secondary processing steps.
