Q1: What drawing formats do I need to provide for machining?
A1: We accept 2D drawings in PDF, DWG/DXF (CAD) formats, as well as 3D models in IGES or STEP. Simply upload or send your source files, and our engineers will program and machine accordingly.
Q2: Are the mounting hole positions, diameters, and countersink depths fully customizable per my drawing?
A2: Yes. All hole parameters - including diameter, pitch, countersink or thread requirements - are machined strictly to your drawing. Our CNC equipment ensures positional tolerances within ±0.05mm.
Q3: What continuous operating temperature can this PTFE guide strip withstand?
A3: Pure PTFE offers a service range from -200°C to +260°C. For higher temperatures or heavier loads, we can recommend filled grades such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, or bronze to improve thermal stability and creep resistance.
Q4: What is the friction coefficient of this guide strip? Does it require lubrication?
A4: PTFE typically has a dynamic coefficient of friction below 0.1 and is self-lubricating. It can run dry in most applications, making it ideal for low-speed sliding and reciprocating motion without external oil or grease.
Q5: How do you ensure the machining accuracy of mounting holes and guide surfaces?
A5: We use high-precision CNC milling and turning centers, combined with in-process measurement and offline CMM inspection, to guarantee flatness, parallelism, and hole position accuracy as specified on your drawing.
Q6: Can this guide strip be used in food or pharmaceutical machinery? Is it hygienic?
A6: Pure PTFE complies with FDA requirements for food contact. It is non-toxic and non-leaching, suitable for clean environments like food packaging and pharmaceutical filling. Material certificates are available upon request.
Q7: Will PTFE corrode or swell when exposed to strong acids or organic solvents?
A7: PTFE is chemically inert to almost all common acids, alkalis, organic solvents, and oxidizing agents. It will not corrode or swell, making it an excellent choice for chemical, electroplating, and semiconductor wet-process applications.
Q8: Do you have size limitations for longer guide strips?
A8: We can machine any custom length per your drawing, though we must consider material deflection and shipping constraints. For very long lengths, we can offer segmented machining with splicing options - please consult our engineers for specific cases.
Q9: Can this strip replace bronze sliders in metal guideways?
A9: Absolutely. PTFE guide strips are lighter, quieter, and free from galling. They are especially suitable for precision equipment requiring low friction, vibration damping, or avoidance of metal-to-metal contact.
Q10: Can I order multiple different guide strips in one single order?
A10: Yes. You can submit several drawings in one order - we will machine each according to its own drawing, label them individually, and pack separately for easy inventory management. We support small-batch, multi-variety customization.
