It also enhances thermal conductivity, effectively reducing heat build-up during dynamic sealing - ideal for high-pressure and high-speed hydraulic applications.
Q2: Can this gasket withstand phosphate ester or other special hydraulic fluids?
A2: The PTFE matrix offers good resistance to most mineral oils, synthetic oils, and water-oil emulsions. For specialty fluids like phosphate esters, we recommend providing the specific fluid type so we can verify compatibility for long-term service.
Q3: Is this gasket suitable for reciprocating or rotary dynamic seals, such as piston rods or valve stems?
A3: Yes. Its self-lubricating and low-friction properties make it ideal for dynamic movements, significantly reducing break-away torque, operating temperature rise, and wear on mating metal surfaces.
Q4: Can dimensions be fully customized per drawing? Are there limits on thickness or outer diameter?
A4: Inner diameter, outer diameter, and thickness are all customizable. Minimum thickness can be as low as 1 mm, and maximum OD typically up to 600 mm - larger sizes available upon consultation.
Q5: What are the installation requirements for the groove and mating surface? Is additional lubricant needed?
A5: Ensure the groove and mating surface are clean and burr-free before installation. Recommended surface roughness Ra 0.8-1.6 μm. No extra lubricant is needed, but control pre-load force to avoid over-compression leading to creep.
Q6: Will this gasket scratch or gall the metal mating surfaces?
A6: No. The carbon graphite filler provides excellent self-lubrication, preventing galling or scratching. Mating surface wear is minimal, making it an ideal replacement for metal gaskets that often cause damage.
Q7: Can you provide material property test reports and compliance documentation?
A7: We supply physical property data sheets, batch inspection reports, ROHS and REACH declarations, and MSDS with each shipment. Note: this filled product is not FDA-compliant and is not intended for food-contact applications.
